Social Media Marketing with Twitter. Is it Good or Bad?

Where does Social media at? Where does it go from here? Social media is changing rapidly, so fast, that there’s not a book to read on the true expertise of the market, but some say the experts can predict the market, those who are so good they can right books later. You with me. Nerds can acquire the knowledge, one who is polymathic, look it up on wikipedia. To be a social media expert you must search news articles and the latest blogs (thanks for visiting) in search of relevant content to analyze in hopes of making a good prediction of how it will be in the future. We must think philosophical and scientific as well as sociological and psychological. Social media will be a part of the young generation’s lifestyle, so it should be studied by alot more than just computer guys.

Social media can just be a place to entertain you online, but for some in the marketing field and tech entrepreneurs its very important. Its the future of business, it changes everything in t’erms of information gathering or the term ‘general knowledge.’ Just think, you can know almost anything, if you know the right question to ask. So be analytical, imagine, and be persistent on knowing more, if your passionate about it. Even if you like music, art, fashion, food, or outdoors… you can know even more with the computer, just google it.

Now that search engines empower us, we can gain an abundance of resources, use it, sky’s the limit. Email becames a necessity in the last decane and price of a stamp increases that we barely even need. Now we have social networking, a place for friends, lol. This connects all your friends and even more if you click enough. Coming back to marketing, this is where communication lives and breeds and is why social media marketing is so important.

Advertising has taken over the web, but yet isn’t really effective per impression if you ask me. Things are cluttered, I’ve barely remember what ad I seen strictly before writing this blog entry. It doesn’t work as well because it’s communication is weak. We are not looking to buy stuff so the colors are a flash in the brain’s senses and we continue working the keys to mouse to reach our destined webpage. Don’t get me wrong, sales probably arises from banner ads and small spaces purchased on sites. Only because, a user may actually pay attention and accept the benefit offered, take action to get to the shopping site, and purchase… because its a 24hr store, a platform to purchase, like mail order catalog but you fill out the customer information yourself over the internet. Ecommerce is the platform, and advertising just reminds you that purchasing is an option, if you wanting or need it now.

Advertising and marketing differ, creating my conclusion that marketing is for communication and finding substance within the market, the brand, the receiver, the message, the service, all play a role together. Marketing allows the message to set the tone for invitation to bring your attention to the benefit or your wants, needs, and money to get specific. Twitter allows us to communicate even faster as the most important benefit and desired value we all want in the future will be time itself. We want things right now, in real-time speed. We can have it too, because the web, it search engines, its email, its social media and its tools, like twitter.

For marketing specialist, twitter is a great medium to share with those who already participate. This is critical, because as a marketing guy myself, I like to think of ways to reinvent standards, platforms, and trends, but I must understand it for what it is. That is why its hard to interpret because it changes so fast. But we can use it for what it is accepted, publicized, and leans to be. Marketing is great for twitter if you stick to the standards it sets, those who reinvent it take the risk of being isolated in good or bad way. Personally, I like telling small business to leave a twitter address printed on their business card or even dealing with the tech companies who instantly give twitter updates to their organization. Twitter can be an integrated marketing device for companies when used thoughtfully and with good strategy. If you know your targeted audience or even existing clients are computer literate, throwing a few social media sites with your brand won’t hurt. The current tech era is driving us to embrace computers, so for the generation Y, its a good chance you will share this part of their life, by branding online, with the online social community :) Go get rich and start studying what in ‘online world’ is going on! It just cost you web access, then its free and limitless. Knowledge is power, have a good day!

Great post. I have been doing some research on classified sites. I am trying to implement a marketing system for my small business, do you have any advice? Are there any marketing software for these kinds of jobs?
